The Hidden Treasure

The Hidden Treasure: Reflections on a High School Journey Dear readers, I can’t believe spring break is almost here. As high school activities begin to wind down and we start finalizing the exciting journey toward college, I’ve found myself reflecting on a story that changed my perspective on my four years here: The Treasure Hunt. The tale goes like this: An elderly farmer, knowing his time was running short, gathered his sons around his bed. "Listen carefully," he told them, his voice serious. "Our family estate holds a great treasure somewhere on its land. I don't know exactly where it is, but it's there. Search every inch. Leave no stone unturned." When the father passed, the sons didn't hesitate. They grabbed their spades and started digging. They turned over every foot of soil, searching the fields multiple times and going over the same ground again and again until their hands blistered and their backs ached. Weeks passed. No gold. No jewels. No t...

Courageous Emma

Image
Hey everyone! To celebrate the start of the new school year, I have a story to share.  Before our generation, when transport was not available, walking was the only means of travel. Emma was a little girl who walked to school every day. Her school was on the other side of a hill, and she knew the path well. One afternoon, as she was coming home, dark clouds filled the sky. Soon, rain began to fall, and the path became muddy and slippery. Emma hurried along, but in her rush, she lost her way. The forest grew darker as night came. Emma felt scared, but then she remembered what her grandmother had once told her: “When you are lost, look to the sky. The stars will guide you home.” Emma looked up. The clouds were moving away, and in the dark sky, one bright star shone above all the others. It was the North Star. She thought carefully. “When I stand outside my home, the North Star is always in front of me. Now I see it behind me. That means I must go the other way.” So Emma turned around...

The Price of a Promise

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been gone for so long! Rest assured, I am back and ready to get back to posting. This months story is one of my personal favorites to have written and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I have writing it! In the busy streets of Karsan, a city south of Velmira, a young girl was walking alongside her mother. While walking through the street, Lina, the young girl, locked eyes on a toy stall. It was filled with spinning tops, music boxes, and stuffed animals. But one thing stood out above all: a porcelain doll, it's fine silk dress shimmering in the sunlight. Lina was breathless. She had to have it.  “Mom! I’m going to that stall over there okay? Can I please?” The mother laughed and said, “Yes, but don't take too long now!”  The girl ran to the stall. “Excuse me, Mr. Shopkeeper! How much is that doll?” she asked eagerly. “This doll?” he asked, pointing to it. She nodded again, eyes wide. “I’m afraid it’s not for sale, little one. It’s far too price...

Soar, Chikki, Soar!

Image
Hey everyone! As exam season is approaching rapidly for people of all ages, I wanted to share a short story that contains some advice I hope you'll take to heart. In a big banyan tree by the edge of a quiet village school lived a young sparrow named Chikki and her family. Chikki was very bright but also very tiny. Compared to her peers, she wasn't as strong or as capable. To overcome this, she decided to work as hard as possible to rise above any barrier between herself and her classmates. With this mindset, she breezed through the year but as the school year came to an end, she became increasingly anxious about how she would perform on her flying exam. “What if I don't fly high enough to make my parents proud?” she chittered to herself. “What if I’m the only one who can’t fly?” Her thoughts were clouded by the fear of failure. Every night, Chikki stayed up late reading her books under the moonlight, barely getting any sleep. Her wings drooped with exhaustion, her eyes coul...

The Doll That Listened

Image
It’s already February, so here’s the blog post you’ve been waiting for!  Long ago, in the southern lands of India, there lived a wise and thoughtful king. His most trusted minister, who had been by his side for many years, had recently passed away. The king knew that finding someone equally wise and trustworthy would not be easy. To ensure he chose the right person, the king announced a challenge across the kingdom: “Whoever can pass my test of wisdom will become my new royal minister.” Soon, the palace courtyard filled with scholars, nobles, and ordinary citizens, all eager to prove themselves. In the grand royal hall, the king placed  three identical dolls  on a table. Each doll was crafted with precision—so perfect that even the keenest eyes couldn’t spot a difference. The king then addressed the crowd: “Your task is simple. Study these three dolls and tell me which one is the best and why.” One by one, the kingdom’s wisest men stepped forward. They examined the dolls ...

Mind Your Steps, Not Their Words

Hey everyone, Happy New Year! I can’t believe it’s 2025 already. I just hit one year of blogging! It’s been such a wild ride sharing my high school adventures and all the ups and downs of everyday life over the past year. Looking back, high school has been a total rollercoaster, full of lessons that have helped me grow in so many ways. As I step into this new year, I’m super excited to see what’s next and to keep sharing my journey with all of you. So, what about you? Do you have any cool plans or resolutions for the new year? Let me know in the comments!  So let's begin with a story that focuses on... well staying focused! There was once a young man who lived in a busy town. But for him, every step outside felt like walking into a storm. He thought people were always watching him, whispering about him, and laughing behind his back. The more he worried about their opinions, the harder it became to do anything confidently. One day, he decided he’d had enough. He went to th...

The Parrot Who Broke Free

Image
Hi Everyone! Have you ever felt stuck or trapped in a situation where everyone expects you to act or be a certain way, but deep down, it’s not what you want? I get it, its very frustrating. Honestly, it relates to this month's story I will be telling.  Long, long ago, there was a rich merchant who was awfully fond of his pet parrot. He kept it in a shiny golden cage, gave it the best fruits to eat, and even toys. But even with all that, the parrot wasn’t happy. It missed the forest, the sky, and the freedom to fly.  One day, the merchant told the parrot, “I’m heading to the forest where you came from. Want me to tell your friends anything?” The parrot thought for a bit and said, “Yes. Tell them I’m living in this golden cage, being treated well, but I really miss my freedom and the forest.” The merchant nodded and promised to deliver the message. When he got to the forest, he found a group of parrots flying around and told them what the caged parrot had said. But as soon as he...
