The Moon in the Well

One starry night, when the full moon was glowing brightly in the sky, a man walked to the village well to fetch some water. As he peered into the well, something unexpected caught his eye. He froze in place, staring down into the water.

His heart skipped a beat. "Wait... is that the moon? It’s fallen into the well!" he thought, completely bewildered.

Without a moment’s hesitation, he ran home to grab a rope and a hook, determined to rescue the moon and put it back in the sky. "The moon belongs up there, not stuck in some well," he mumbled to himself as he hurried back to the water’s edge.

Carefully, he lowered the hook into the well, confident that he was about to save the day. The hook caught onto something—a large stone at the bottom of the well—but to him, it was obviously the moon. "Got it!" he whispered with excitement.

He began pulling with all his strength. "This is one heavy moon," he thought, straining as hard as he could. He pulled and pulled, but it just wouldn’t budge. Finally, after one last mighty tug, the rope slipped from his hands, and he lost his balance. With a loud thud, he fell flat on his back.

Dazed and catching his breath, he looked up at the night sky—and there, to his surprise, was the moon, shining brightly, exactly where it was supposed to be. He blinked a few times, processing what just happened, then smiled to himself.

"Oh, right... the moon was never in the well. It’s been in the sky all along," he chuckled, feeling a little embarrassed but relieved.

Brushing off the dust, he stood up and headed home, completely convinced that somehow, he had managed to put the moon back where it belonged.

Moral: Honestly, this is one of those times when you make a huge deal out of something that’s really nothing.

Yeah, sometimes you just get so caught up in what you think is happening that you don’t even realize the actual situation.

Exactly! It’s like stressing over something that wasn’t even a problem to begin with.

Sometimes, you just need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture—literally. The moon wasn’t even in the well!,
